March Newsletter: Mindfulness to Cope With Stress

Mindfulness has many benefits! It's been found to support you in regulating emotions, managing stress and leading to greater overall health and well-being. Our theme of MINDFULNESS in March fits under the composure domain of resilience. Composure - in regards to resilience - is about learning to regulate our emotions. It's also about the "little things" - being mindful in the moment. Sounds easy, right? It's HARD!

Let's face it ... caregivers are no strangers to HARD ... OR stressful situations that mess with our emotions. And, while it's EASY to "blame" our loved ones, those we care for, for our emotional outbursts or emotional effect on us ... our emotional regulation is up to US. When we share this ... caregivers often don't like to HEAR this. It's so much easier to blame others for our misfortune, our misery, our stress.

At Courage to Caregivers, while we'd LOVE to remove or reduce the stress of caregiving - we can't. YET, we CAN give you all the tools to better cope and manage the stress of caregiving.
