Community Alliance

ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County free, confidential online screening tool guides a person through a series of questions about his/her emotional well-being and readiness to seek help. You can print off your results and share them with your doctor or counselor. A wide variety of screenings are available including Alcohol/Opioid and other Substance Use; Depression (Adults and parents concerned about teens); Anxiety; Bipolar Disorders; PTSD; Eating Disorders; Gambling; and General Well-Being. Click this link to access the screening program.

Ohio Resources

Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF)

OSPF supports community-based efforts to reduce stigma, promote education and awareness about suicide prevention, and increase resources and programs to reduce the risk of lives lost to suicide. OSPF also provides a list of suicide support services by county.

OSPF provides Question Persuade Refer (QPR) training for groups - training community members on the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, how to have a conversation with someone who may be suicidal, how to persuade a suicidal person to not end their life, and how to appropriately refer a suicidal person to behavioral healthcare professionals.

Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS)

OhioMHAS has developed a number of specific strategies and approaches directed toward reducing the suicide rate in Ohio, which includes increasing and expanding prevention efforts and ensuring that clinicians adequate opportunities for training, skill development and resources.

Redtreehouse.org is an online resource supporting the well-being of Ohio’s families and children with challenges, disabilities, and health care needs. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)

AFSP is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. Resources include supporting a loved one who has attempted suicide and finding a support group after a suicide loss. 

National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance) - Comprehensive Blueprint for Workplace Suicide Prevention

The Action Alliance is the nation’s public-private partnership for suicide prevention. The alliance works with more than 250 national partners to advance the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. Current priority areas include: transforming health systems, transforming communities, and changing the conversation.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
