Everyday Ways to Rejuvenate
Last week we talked about the benefits of getting away for even just a few days on a staycation or a day-trip. It’s great way to put on your self-care oxygen mask by taking a break, relieving stress and spending precious quality time with loved ones.
This week, we’re focusing on the importance for continued self-care in our day-to-day lives. Especially in these hectic late-summer months when schedules are changing, back-to-school time is here, and the hours and days are diminishing to get all of the things done that we had planned to do this summer. If you’re like me .. there’s more than one unfinished project lying around the house!
When our minds are busy on other things, it’s easy to neglect self-care. We get caught up in our responsibilities and spend all our time focusing on the things we “need” to do. While that’s important, we should always remember our own health and well-being. By taking time to prioritize US – to relax and rejuvenate ourselves, we will be able to carry out our responsibilities as caregivers even better. Remember, self-care is NOT selfish .. It's absolutely necessary to becoming and being the best YOU for yourself and others!
Here are just a few simple and easy self-care activities that can help you feel revitalized:
Enjoy a homemade picnic in the park.
Go on a walk through your neighborhood with a loved one.
Attend a free concert in your area.
Spend the day at a local beach.
I’m always looking to add to my self-care repertoire .. What are some of your favorite ways to rejuvenate?
Talk soon,
Kristi
