You Can Help us to Make an Inspiring Impact

I’m reaching out to you with a tremendous amount of excitement about the progress that Courage to Caregivers has achieved over the last year.

Our organization was started with the mission to provide an “oxygen mask” for mental illness caregivers. To that end, we have just launched the first of our three signature programs – One-to-One Caregiver Support. This program connects caregivers with volunteers who have experienced the challenges of caring for someone with a mental illness. During the program, participants receive the training and resources they need to take care of themselves physically and emotionally so they can better care for their loved one.

The One-to-One program has been generously supported by a grant from Peg’s Foundation, an organization focused on improving the lives of people with serious mental illness by investing in innovative projects in Northeast Ohio.

This program is already seeing positive impact. We have helped caregivers like Nancy, who said, “I was scrambling for more tools and knowledge on how to respond. I called Courage to Caregivers and was given immediate and ‘lifesaving’ attention. As I practiced and utilized the tools and tips, I also developed greater confidence and learned the importance of self-care as a caregiver. I am forever grateful for Courage to Caregivers and their tools for life!”

During 2019, we will launch our two other signature programs to offer professionally led support groups and breathing/meditation classes for caregivers – helping to “breathe life” into the people who spend so much time caring for others.

Like many other non-profits, we need your help. As the year draws to a close, you might be considering where you can make a difference with your year-end giving.

Here’s why I would hope you’d put serious consideration into supporting Courage to Caregivers: More than 8 million Americans provide care to an adult with an emotional or mental health issue. When surveyed, 40% of these caregivers, family members and loved ones say they struggle to take care of their own health while providing support. Those are the people we serve. We are one of the few non-profits that have taken on this challenge.

In order to fund our two additional programs for 2019, we need to raise $15,000. Will you help?

And, we have exciting news – each and every donation will be matched dollar for dollar through the end of the year! Your donation is greatly appreciated, and now it can make double the impact!

Making a difference is what we do. If you’d like to be a part of our effort to support those who care for others, I’d encourage you to include Courage to Caregivers as part of your annual end-of-year giving plan. You can make donations directly online at www.couragetocaregivers.org, or if you’d like to chat with us about being a named sponsor of a program, we would be happy to set up a time to meet with you individually.

Thank you for your consideration!
